DeepL

Translate your Agility content with DeepL, field by field in the content editor or as part of copying content into another locale.

Private beta

This feature is in private beta and is not yet available on every instance. What you see here may change before general release. To ask about joining the beta, contact us through the chat in your instance or email support@agilitycms.com.

What is the DeepL app?

DeepL is a professional-grade AI translation service. The DeepL app connects your Agility instance to it, so your editors can translate content without leaving Agility.

Once the app is installed, editors get two things:

• A DeepL Translate panel in the content editor sidebar, for translating individual fields on the item they are working on

• A Translate Content option when making localized copies, so pages, content items or entire content lists are translated as part of the copy

You need to be an administrator on the instance to install an app.

You need a DeepL API key, not a DeepL subscription

The app authenticates with a DeepL API key, which comes from a DeepL API plan. DeepL's Translator, Write and Voice plans do not include API access. See DeepL's Finding or creating your API key.

Before you start

• Administrator access to the instance

• A DeepL API key

• At least two locales configured, otherwise there is nothing to translate into. See Locales.

Installing the DeepL app

1. Navigate to Settings > Apps

2. Click Install

3. Type DeepL into the search box, then select the DeepL app

The Install Apps browser, filtered to DeepL

4. Review the app details, then click Continue

5. Paste your DeepL API Key into the App Configuration step, then click Next

The Connect App step, where the DeepL API key is entered

6. Click Finish

Result

DeepL now appears under Installed Apps on the Apps page, with Configure and Uninstall actions. Editors will see a DeepL Translate panel in the right-hand sidebar when they open a content item, and a Translate Content option when they copy content into another locale.
